​One of the most enlightening concepts from the book was that there are multiple forms of prayer.

​Fosdick classifies prayer in several categories: adoration, confession, thanksgiving, consecration, communion, and petition.

​This is a highly readable book, and I enjoyed it immensely because Dr. Fosdick humanizes faith, which—before reading this book, I would have considered an oxymoron. Now I understand that faith—or the lack of it, is imbedded in everything I do.

This is a book about faith: faith in man, faith in friendship, faith in yourself … but most of all faith in God and … God’s faith in us.

This is a highly readable book, and I enjoyed it immensely, and you don't have to be of a Christian frame of mind to enjoy its wise and insightful information into how to live a more spiritual life. Put it on your nightstand!

As always, Dr. Harry Emerson Fosdick is a man with an outstanding manner of stating concepts in a remarkable—and thereby, a rememberable way. ​
Overview and Links to “The Power to See It Through”
Since each chapter is a sermon or radio address, this is a book that can be read one chapter at a time. It is a wonderful “nightstand reader” that will motivate a person to better understand the spiritual side of Christianity or what the true purpose of any religion in general should be.
