Samuel Crowther's "The Book of Business"
This is an excellent example of the breadth of industrialists, philosophers and economists that Samuel Crowther accessed as a journalist and editor. Contained in this five-volume set of vignettes of wisdom are some of the most well-known individuals of the 1920s.
Ida M. Tarbell's "New Ideals in Business"
This book was a wonderful find and an easy, insightful read. It is not about a single American industrialist but about many who were running their businesses with a new management concept—one that brought employer and employee together in the pursuit of a common goal.
This is a consolidation of and an extension to a series of articles that Miss Tarbell wrote for the American Magazine under the title "The Golden Rule in Business."
"The Master Workers' Library" Anthology
The Master Workers' Library is a four-volume set of books composed of Andrew Carnegie's "The Empire of Business," James J. Hill's "Highways of Progress," John D. Rockefeller's "The Difficult Art of Getting," and Woodrow Wilson's "The New Freedom."
​It was published by the World's Work Magazine in 1914.​
Burton J. Hendrick's "The Age of Big Business"
B. J. Hendrick does a wonderful job painting in-depth, black-and-white documentaries of our post-Civil War’s greatest industrialists and capitalists. He leaves it up to the reader to decide: If we could go back and change these practices, would we?
​If we changed things, would we make the country—overall—a better or worse place for its citizens? Does a better end, justify the means used to achieve that end?

B. C. Forbes' Industrialist Anthologies
B. C. Forbes constantly worked on books that highlighted America's greatest industrialists. Sometimes they were geographic in nature such as his "Men Who Are Making the West." Sometimes they were industry specific such as his "Automotive Giants of America."
And sometimes they examined industrialists spanning the United States of America such as his "Men Who Are Making America" or "America's Fifty Foremost Business Leaders."
